Charles W. Bennafield Installed as New Senior Pastor
On January 6, Charles W. Bennafield was officially installed as Senior Pastor of Flat Rock Community Church.
As reported by On Common Ground News, “The installation officially merged two churches in which Bennafield has been involved over the last 15 years: Crossroads Christian Community Church, which he launched in 1998, and Flat Rock Community Church, where he served 6 years before the launch.”
Pastor Bennafield is married to Pamela Michelle (Fortson) Bennafield. The couple has been married since 1989 and they have two adult children Mia Charmaine and Charles Jaron “CJ”. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia. God led him to serve at Flat Rock on March 30th, 1992 where he served for 6 years until the Lord led he and Pam to start Crossroads Christian Community Church, beginning with Bible Study on April 26, 1998. Pastor Bennafield is employed at the Department of Human Services where he supports the GA SHINES Appllication.
Pastor Bennafield believes that “God has prepared a remnant that will keep their trust in Him to reach, communities, cities, states and countries helping to build up the body of Christ. It is the vision of Flat Rock Community Church to be a beacon of light in the community, identifying needs and providing services that enhance the lives of individuals inside the church and in the community by faithfully cultivating caring relationships that honor and glorify God.”
We are humbled to have the type of leader among us who will work diligently to continue to not only uphold that legacy but expand the care, the outreach and the love that we as the church have always been known for here.
We look forward to Pastor Charles Bennafield serving our church and our community. Please join us at Flat Rock Community Church as we embark upon a renewed spiritual journey with our new pastor and church family on Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. worship service and Wednesday evenings for bible study at 7:00 p.m.
